Renault Information...

Formula Renault UK is widely regarded as one of the world's foremost junior single-seater categories, launching the careers of current McLaren F1 driver Kimi Raikkonen, Williams F1 driver Antonio Pizzonia and Le Mans 24 Hours winner Guy Smith.

While other manufacturers have come and gone, Renault Sport UK has maintained its position over the last 30 years with superb technical backing, a professional and dedicated media service and the most experienced team in UK motorsport working behind the scenes.

In addition to the largest raceday crowds in the UK, the Championship is watched by a weekly audience of around 300,000 on ITV1 and 20,000 viewers watching live on satellite channel Motors TV.

Jodie Hemming Season Preview 2007
Jodie will be attending the International Autosport Show on the weekend of 13/14th January, and she will be there from the Thursday with her Jordan F1 on the GP Live stand in Hall 6.

She will be doing a ‘meet and greet’ on the stand on both days, times to be confirmed.

Jodie will be appearing on the main stage with Tony Jardine one of the presenters of the ITV F1 show.

Jodie says of the show “ The Autosport show is the biggest motor show in the world and I feel privileged to be showing my car on the GP Live stand. It is a great opportunity to meet motor racing supporters and give them a little insight of what it is like to be driving such an amazing car”

Jodie will be also be demonstrating her car at the GP Live event on May 18-20th 2007 at Donnington Park.

Jodie is hoping to be competing in this year’s EuroBOSS championship whilst also testing the UK Formula Renault car that she ran in 2006.

Jodie says “2006 was a year of learning, after the round in EuroBOSS at Brands Hatch in April ( where she scored a podium place on her debut EuroBOSS race) we were looking forward to a year in the Boss series, but unfortunately we had a gearbox failure which led us to abandon the Boss season and go into TOCA Formula Renault UK series, just to keep the wheels turning”

Jodie enjoyed the Formula Renault UK, but found that it was a tough learning curve for her in terms of driving. Jodie’s best result was at her home track of Silverstone, where she was only 1.1 sec off the time of the quickest man on the track.

“ We were a private team entering a challenging championship so the whole team had a lot to learn …. we were really thrown in the deep end”.

“ I think the Renault series is great for drivers as all the cars are the same and it is left down to driver skill and set up.”

In July, Jodie has been invited to drive the ex F1 JPS Lotus at the Festival of Speed at Goodwood. Owner, Patrick Morgan, who offered her the drive, and who has a number of Formula One cars said “ I think Jodie would get more from driving the car than I would, it also gives me a chance to work on the car”.

Driving at the Goodwood Festival of Speed is something that Jodie has always wanted to do, and Patrick has given her the opportunity to do this.

The first round of the EuroBOSS series is at Hockienheim, Germany April 28-30th 2007.
The rest of the calender is yet to be confirmed.
